I'll say this first, there is no instruction manual, some parts were obvious, others, I needed to look at the picture on this website
I got this statue a few months back and forgot to post a review and only just remembered now. But I just want to say that aside from the minor damage it received when it arrived, that being one of the staircase pillars and an easy fix, it's a beautiful and amazingly detailed statue and I absolutely adore it as a fan of the series. However, another thing I NEED to stress is that if this ever comes back in stock and you decide to purchase it BE CAREFUL! Before you even assemble it, make sure you've got a spot that can accommodate its large size as this thing is about two feet tall, very wide, and very heavy. Once you do have a spot that isn't fragile like glass, take it there and build it there, keep it there unless moving it is absolutely necessary. The base of the statue gets some of its weights from the magnets within it to keep certain parts within it secure, such as one of her legs, and a lamp leg, meaning that once they're in there, it will be very hard to remove
Another thing is, even the slightest nudge can break the smaller pieces such as the ribbons, the string on her broach, or even the handle of the parasol, each of these I have unfortunately fallen victim to. Do not trust the handle when placing the parasol as it is mostly resin and will eventually snap under the weight of the parasol top itself, I assumed the handle was entirely metal with a resin coating, but it only reaches around a third of a centimeter into the handle. Instead, place the hand on somewhere such as the metal just above the handle, no matter where you put the parasol in her hand, it will roll a little when first placing it down as it just rests on her shoulder, meaning that you do have to be gentle when placing it there as to not let it fall and possibly take her whole arm with it.
Her suitcase, is something you should be careful with, too. I needed to slide it into her hand, however, the way the case is made and the hand's position meant that it needed a tiny bit of force to ever so slightly bend the fingers JUST ENOUGH to get the suitcase in, think of putting something like a gun into an action figure's hand, sometimes you need to add just a tiny bit of force to fit it, enough to hook it in, but not enough that you just snap the hand off since they're not meant to bend. However, this means that once its there, it's staying there
Some of her parts can pop out with a slight nudge, those being the ribbons on her arms, and the broach on her neck, I used plastic cement glue to secure the broach as that had the most trouble staying in the slot thanks to parts of her hair being too close at the same time.
So, should this ever get in stock again, I hope anyone reads this review and knows what they're getting into when buying this or any of the other GK statues on this website or anywhere else
It also came with a tiny battery pack which I assume is for the lamp, but there was no lights for the actual lamp itself, so I assume that it's for those with the skill to actually add lights or something. And blu tack, which I assume is for the parasol, and as I'm writing this I realize it may be to help keep the ribbons and broach in place, in addition to being used to keep the papers and letters in their spots, too
I'll be including a picture of both the statue itself and the parts that broke to help give some information as to what's easy to break
