Pre-orders
explained.
Lock in the piece you want before it lands. A small deposit secures your slot, we chase the supplier, and you settle the balance when it arrives at our Sydney warehouse.

How pre-orders work.
Place the order
Browse the upcoming releases, add the piece to cart, choose Deposit, Full Payment or Payment Plan at checkout.
Pay the deposit
A flat-rate deposit (or full payment) secures your slot. Deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable - it counts toward the final balance.
We chase the supplier
We follow the manufacturer release window and keep your slot reserved. ETA may shift - we email when the date moves.
It lands at the warehouse
Stock arrives at our Sydney warehouse. You get an email confirming it has landed and is ready for the final balance.
Settle the balance
Pay the remainder within 14 days of the arrival email. Payment Plan customers see the final invoice scheduled for the same window.
Pack & dispatch
Hand-packed by collectors who know what mint-in-box means. Tracked dispatch within 48 hours of paid balance.

The fine print.
Pre-orders fund the slot we hold for you with the supplier. The terms below cover what happens between order and dispatch, and they apply to every pre-order on the site.
What counts as a pre-order
An item that has not yet landed at our Sydney warehouse but can be pre-purchased to secure your piece. This includes custom or special orders, first batches, and overseas batches sourced from licensed manufacturers.
Deposit terms
The deposit (or full payment) secures your slot. It is non-refundable and non-transferable except where Sugo Toys cannot fulfill the order due to limited supply, in which case you receive a full refund.
Cancellation fees
The cancellation fee depends on how the order was placed at checkout.
- Placed with a deposit: the deposit is kept as the cancellation fee.
- Placed as Full Payment or Payment Plan: 15% of the item total.
- Trigger events: change of mind, inability to pay, auto-cancellation for insufficient funds, and overdue payments more than 14 days past the due date.
3-day grace period
Cancel within 3 days of placing the order and we convert the deposit to store credit instead of forfeiting it. Cash refund is not offered under the grace period. The grace period excludes in-stock items, custom or special orders, and first or overseas batch products.
Free order transfer
You may transfer the order to someone else willing to take over the slot at no cancellation fee. Contact support to arrange the transfer.
Repeated cancellations
We reserve the right to restrict an account from placing future pre-orders if cancellations become repeated or unreasonable.
Release dates & ETA
Pre-order release dates are estimates only. They are set by the manufacturer, not by us, and can move forward or back without notice. Our listed date may also differ from the manufacturer's own website, because it accounts for shipping and customs time into our Sydney warehouse. We update the ETA on the product page as soon as we receive better information from the supplier, and we email you when a date on your order changes. You are welcome to contact support at any time for the latest ETA on anything you have on pre-order - just send your order number. We do not recommend purchasing pre-orders for birthdays or special occasions.
Release postponements are common across the collectibles industry, and a shifted date is not a sign that anything is wrong with your order. As a general guide only, and without any guarantee:
- Usually ship close to schedule: anime PVC figures, Bandai and other model kits, miniatures, die-cast cars, trading card products, hobby tools, and blind boxes.
- More prone to delay: action figures, statues, and 18+ / mature figures. These involve more complex production, tooling, and quality control, and are the categories most often pushed back for production difficulty or other unforeseen reasons.
These are observations from experience, not commitments. Any item can be delayed.
Cancellations due to delay
Because a slot is reserved and paid for with the supplier the moment you order, we do not accept change-of-mind cancellations on the basis of a release or production delay. The standard cancellation terms above continue to apply while an item is delayed, and your slot stays reserved throughout.
Significant delays
Short shifts of weeks or months are a normal, expected part of pre-ordering and are not a basis to cancel. If a manufacturer pushes an item more than 12 months beyond the original estimated release date shown when you ordered, with no valid reason given, you can contact support and we will review your order individually and work out a fair solution - store credit, transferring the order, or a refund, decided case by case. You do not need to wait for that mark to reach out: if a delay on your order has become unreasonable in your circumstances, contact us and we will review it.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Price changes
If the price of a pre-ordered item increases by the time it arrives, we honour the price at the time of pre-order regardless of whether you paid a deposit or in full. Customers who did not pre-order will pay the new price once the item is listed as In Stock.
Partial payments
Payment Plan orders break the balance into scheduled instalments. Missing more than one scheduled payment may trigger auto-cancellation under the same fee rules above. Reach out before the due date if you need to reschedule.
Fee disputes
Non-refundable deposits, cancellation fees, and customs duties are documented in our terms of service, accepted at checkout. Pending chargebacks against pre-order fees may result in temporary account suspension while we work through it.
Force majeure
Manufacturer recalls, factory shutdowns, freight disruptions, or licensing issues are outside our control. If a release is cancelled by the supplier, deposits are refunded in full. If the release is delayed, we keep your slot reserved and email the new ETA.
Common Qs.
What is a pre-order?
+A pre-order is an item that has not yet landed at our Sydney warehouse. You can pre-purchase to secure your piece before stock arrives. Includes custom orders, special orders, and first or overseas batch products.
Is the deposit refundable?
+No. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. It counts toward your final balance when the item arrives. The only exception is when we cannot fulfill the order due to limited supply, in which case you get a full refund.
What happens if I cancel?
+If you placed the order with a deposit, the deposit is kept as the cancellation fee. If you placed the order as Full Payment or Payment Plan, the fee is 15% of the item total. The same applies if your order is auto-cancelled for overdue payment past 14 days.
Is there any way to cancel without losing the deposit?
+Yes, two paths. Within 3 days of placing the order we convert the deposit to store credit instead of forfeiting it. Or, you can transfer the order to someone willing to take over the slot at no cancellation fee. Email support to arrange.
The 3-day grace excludes in-stock items, custom or special orders, and first or overseas batch products.
Can I change the shipping address before dispatch?
+Yes. As long as the order has not been dispatched, email support with your order number and the new address. We will update it before pack-out.
Why has the ETA shifted?
+Pre-order dates are estimates set by the manufacturer and can move because of production delays, freight schedules, or QC holds. We email customers when an ETA changes. Your slot stays reserved.
What if my pre-order is delayed for a long time?
+Short shifts of weeks or months are a normal part of pre-ordering and are not a basis to cancel - your slot stays reserved throughout. If a manufacturer pushes an item more than 12 months beyond the original estimated release date shown when you ordered, with no valid reason given, contact support and we will review your order individually and work out a fair solution - store credit, transferring the order, or a refund, decided case by case. You do not need to wait for the 12-month mark: if a delay has become unreasonable in your circumstances, reach out and we will review it.
Will the price go up on me?
+No. We honour the pre-order price regardless of whether you paid a deposit or in full. If the price changes by the time stock lands, only customers who did not pre-order will see the new price.
How does the Payment Plan work?
+Payment Plan splits the balance into scheduled instalments leading up to the arrival date. Each instalment is invoiced automatically. Miss more than one scheduled payment and the order is auto-cancelled under the standard cancellation rules.
What if I miss the final payment after stock lands?
+You have 14 days from the arrival email to settle the balance. If the balance remains overdue past 14 days the order is auto-cancelled and the deposit is kept as the cancellation fee (or a 15% fee on full-payment and plan orders). Reach out before the deadline if you need an extension.
Should I pre-order something as a birthday gift?
+We do not recommend it. Release dates are estimates and can shift by weeks or months without notice. If a fixed date matters, wait until the item is listed as In Stock.
Can I combine pre-orders with in-stock items?
+Yes, and we will hold the in-stock items so the whole order ships together when the pre-order lands. If you want the in-stock items shipped first, email support - an extra shipping fee may apply for the split.
What if Sugo cannot fulfill the order?
+If the supplier drops the release, allocates short of our slot count, or the product is recalled, we email you and refund the deposit in full. This is the only case where the deposit comes back in cash.
