The first thing I noticed was the paintwork. In the promotional photos the model has much richer, darker, more realistic colouring, whereas the version I received is noticeably lighter and lacks the depth that attracted me to it in the first place.
The sculpt itself is also inconsistent. While some areas look great, other parts are surprisingly average in terms of detail, especially considering the premium price of this statue.
Another major issue is the visible seams throughout the model. For a collectible of this quality and price, I expected the assembly lines to be far better concealed. Instead, they’re quite obvious and detract from the overall appearance.
My biggest disappointment, however, is a large crater or indentation on the side of the chest/body. This is very noticeable when displayed and was never shown in any of the official preview or promotional photos. If this is an intentional part of the sculpt, it should have been clearly visible before purchase. If it’s a manufacturing defect, then it should never have passed quality control.
Overall, I feel the final product doesn’t accurately match the promotional images. Between the lighter paint, visible seams, inconsistent detailing, and the large indentation in the chest, it simply doesn’t meet the expectations set by W-Dragon’s advertising. I hope they improve their quality control and ensure future buyers receive a product that truly reflects what is being marketed.
I’d probably rate it 2/5 stars. The model still has some impressive qualities, but the quality control and the differences from the advertised product make it difficult to recommend at its price.
