Unfortunately, things don't always go perfectly and the first thing I saw when I opened the box was a thin, slim piece - her index finger on her left hand had broken off. I ended up not bothering to try and fix it since her left hand is a bit behind her head. It still looks great and I can't even tell it's missing.
It comes in several parts: The base, the main body of the BDSM plant, the separate vines/leaves, Utena main body, her head, and Venalita. Right out of the box her chest is not covered, with the star cross covers separate. Her wings, riding crop, and heart-shaped ahoge are also separate. They include some blue tack you can tear a bit off to use to stick the chest coverings on. It also included a small commemorative coin of Utena with the figure number.
Speaking of her chest, I have to say they look great, better than the cast off Kadokawa version. They've also modeled her lower bits, which you can see peeking out from her panties. Since this is a resin figure I didn't bother trying to see if it would cast off.
Putting the figure together was a little annoying. Directions aren't included on how to put it together. It was simple enough to figure out but it would have been nice to include. The flower connects to the base, the vines/leaves connect to the plant and Utena sits on the plant. I used the official images and the connecting shapes to determine where the vines go. Magnets ensure they say on. I have to say, getting Utena on the plant was not fun. Her white dress has two sharp points and required quite a bit of angling to get her on. I ended up making a few scratches on the plant because of this. In hindsight I should have covered the sharp points with bubble wrap when trying to get it on.
I almost forgot to mention the feet - they are very detailed. If you're a fan of feet, I think you'll be quite happy with this.
She's marketed as a 1/6 scale but I'd say she's closer to 1/7. She's about the same size as the Kadokawa figure. I'm okay with it as it'd be quite large with the base at 1/6.
All in all, I'm very happy with this figure and will definitely be picking up Kiwi coming soon from Mengyaxiang.
